Next reunion date - June 7, 1959
Dear Fellow Member of the Bracewell Clan:
You will recall that at our last meeting at Mount Pleasant on June 1, 1958, a committee was appointed to work with the present members of the Mount Pleasant Church to assist them in making much needed repairs to this fine old church which holds so many beautiful and meaningful memories to our family. I am delighted to report that this committee has been functioning successfully. May I quote a letter from J. S. Bracewell, Chairman of the Committee:
Dear Hulon:
The committee appointed by the Bracewell Reunion met Saturday, August 2, 1958, after church. There was present Raymond Bracewell, Jack Taylor, Cecil Jackson, Drewy Farris and myself.
After thorough consideration we decided on the following improvements as being about what would be required aggregating $1,000.00, the breakdown as follows:
Asbestos Siding $400.00
Foundation Repair 50.00
4 Concrete Steps 100.00
4 Doors & Units 100.00
8 Aluminum Windows 250.00
Painting inside 100.00
They recommend if all the money is not raised, the siding be put on first and the other as fast as the money is available.
It occurs to us if this is brought to the attention of the members of the association and others interested, no serious difficulty will be encountered in raising the money.
Yours very truly,
J. S. Bracewell
I know you will be grateful as I am to the faithful resident members of the Mountain Pleasant Church for keeping things going through the years. Now they have exhausted their treasury making some of the above listed repairs.
THEY NEED AND DESERVE OUR HELP NOW!
I am taking the liberty of enclosing a draft and a stamped self-addressed envelope for your convenience. Please do not "put off" returning it as we would like to have the repairs before our next meeting - - June 7, 1959.
Now, please note this, your gift may be in memory of some person you might select. We plan to have some type of suitable scroll or plaque with the names.
PUT THIS DATE ON YOUR CALENDER NOW - JUNE 7, 1959
Yours very truly,
